Nepal Embassy in UAE Issues Advisory for Nepali Workers

The Embassy of Nepal in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued a public advisory for Nepali citizens working in the UAE. The advisory highlights several issues faced by Nepali workers and offers important guidelines to avoid complications.

The Embassy emphasized that some Nepali workers, who arrived in the UAE for employment with proper work permits, have left their employers and are misusing their Emirates IDs. Instances of providing these IDs to unauthorized individuals, using them for obtaining loans from banks or other financial institutions, and sharing sensitive account details have been reported.

The Embassy has strongly urged Nepali workers not to misuse their Emirates IDs or engage in activities such as loan-taking under false pretenses, unauthorized transfer of goods at airports, or sharing their IDs and financial details with unauthorized persons. The misuse of Emirates IDs, public facilities, and goods provided by unauthorized individuals has resulted in severe financial and legal problems for many workers.

The Embassy further requested all Nepali citizens to comply with their employment contracts and perform their duties responsibly. In case of any issues with employers regarding salary or other benefits, workers are encouraged to immediately contact the Embassy via email at support.abudhabi@mofa.gov.np for assistance.

This advisory comes as a proactive measure to safeguard Nepali workers in the UAE from unnecessary financial and legal troubles.
