Nepali Embassy Conducts Mobile Consular Service and Awareness Program in Fujairah

Abu Dhabi, February 23, 2025 – The Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with the Nepali community in the UAE, organized a mobile consular service and awareness program in Fujairah Industrial Area on February 22, 2025. The event, held approximately 200 km east of Abu Dhabi, was aimed at providing legal awareness and essential consular services, including passport renewals, to Nepali workers residing in the area.

The awareness session covered UAE labor laws, employment contract rights, exit procedures, and visa regulations, ensuring that Nepali workers have access to crucial legal information. Additionally, embassy officials provided guidance on repatriation procedures and workers’ rights.

Passport Renewal for 116 Nepalese Workers

One of the key highlights of the event was the on-the-spot renewal of passports for 116 Nepali workers residing in the Fujairah Industrial Area. The initiative was part of the embassy’s ongoing efforts to simplify and expedite the passport renewal process for Nepali expatriates in remote areas.

6 Lakh Nepalese Residing in the UAE

According to the embassy, there are around 600,000 Nepali citizens living in the UAE, with a significant number employed in various industries in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other emirates. The embassy has issued 450,000 passports so far and renews nearly 20,000 passports annually.

To further improve consular services, the embassy is actively working on enhancing its digital appointment system for passport renewals and other essential services.Mobile Consular Service is playing vital role in helping the Nepalese living in remote area of the UAE.

Future Initiatives

The Nepalese Embassy in Abu Dhabi has assured that similar mobile consular camps will be conducted in different emirates in the coming months. Additionally, special counters will be set up at the embassy on public holidays to cater to urgent passport renewal requests.
