Meaningful conversations do more than share stories—they connect experiences, inspire new perspectives and remind others that every journey has lessons worth sharing.
I recently had the pleasure of appearing as the guest on the second episode of Connecting Minds Podcast, hosted by Rashmi Bastola. The podcast is a growing platform created to bring together people, experiences and ideas through honest and inspiring conversations.
During the episode, I had the opportunity to reflect on my journey—from arriving in Dubai with limited resources and beginning at the lowest level of employment to building a career, starting businesses and creating platforms dedicated to supporting the Nepalese community in the UAE.
A Conversation About the Real Journey
Success is often presented through achievements, but the difficult stages behind those achievements are rarely discussed.
In my conversation with Rashmi, I spoke about the struggles, decisions, sacrifices and continuous learning that have shaped my journey over more than two decades in the UAE. We discussed the importance of starting from wherever we are, remaining consistent and refusing to allow our present situation to define our future.
My journey did not begin with a senior position, a successful business or a strong network. It began with uncertainty, financial pressure and the determination to create a better future.
Over time, every challenge became a lesson, and every small opportunity became a step forward.
Career, Community and Entrepreneurship
Our conversation also explored the different areas of my journey—professional growth, entrepreneurship and community service.
Alongside building my banking career, I have always believed in using my experience to help others make better decisions. This belief led me to establish Nepalese in UAE, a platform focused on sharing reliable information, practical guidance and awareness with Nepalese people living and working in the UAE.
The discussion highlights an important principle that has guided me throughout my journey: personal success becomes more meaningful when our knowledge and experience can also help others grow.
We also spoke about entrepreneurship and the reality of building businesses while managing professional and community responsibilities. Entrepreneurship is not simply about having an idea. It requires discipline, patience, financial understanding and the courage to continue when the results are not immediate.
