What Does “MBC” Mean?
“MBC” is simply how many people say and write “embassy” in everyday Nepali conversation. When someone says “MBC ma passport renew garna janu paryo”, they mean the Embassy of Nepal or, in Dubai and Jeddah, the Consulate General of Nepal. Both are official Government of Nepal offices under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Quick Guide: Which Nepal MBC Should You Contact?
- Abu Dhabi – Embassy of Nepal, Abu Dhabi
- Dubai and the northern emirates – Consulate General of Nepal, Dubai
- Qatar – Embassy of Nepal, Doha
- Riyadh and central/eastern Saudi Arabia – Embassy of Nepal, Riyadh
- Jeddah and western Saudi Arabia – Consulate General of Nepal, Jeddah
If you are not sure which office covers your area, message the nearest one first – they will tell you where to go.

- Labour and worker support – demand letter attestation, complaints and grievances, help in disputes with employers

Services and procedures can differ slightly between missions, so check the notices on each mission’s website or Facebook page before you go.
Tips Before You Contact or Visit the MBC
- Use the right channel. Many WhatsApp numbers are for text messages only – send a clear message with your name, passport number and what you need instead of calling.
- Use the right email. Labour and worker issues often have a separate email (for example in Abu Dhabi and Doha).
- Check notices first. Missions close for Dashain, Tihar and public holidays, and post passport collection lists online.
- Bring originals and copies. Passport, residence visa or ID, photos and any supporting documents.
- Never pay middlemen for “fast” service that the MBC provides directly. Official fees are paid to the mission.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is “MBC” the same as the embassy?
Yes. “MBC” is a common everyday way of saying “embassy”. Officially it is the Embassy of Nepal (Abu Dhabi, Doha, Riyadh) or the Consulate General of Nepal (Dubai, Jeddah).
Is the Dubai consulate the same as the embassy in Abu Dhabi?
No. Both are official Nepal government missions in the UAE. The embassy is in Abu Dhabi; the consulate general in Dubai provides consular services such as passports and attestation closer to people living in Dubai and the northern emirates.
Can the MBC help if my employer is not paying my salary?
Yes – contact the labour or employment section of your nearest mission (for example support.abudhabi@mofa.gov.np in the UAE or labour.doha@mofa.gov.np in Qatar, or the Dubai consulate’s worker grievance WhatsApp line). Keep copies of your contract, salary records and messages.
Where can I find Nepal embassies in other countries?
