Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with Muna Chapagain for a deeply personal conversation on her podcast, On Air With Muna.
This was not simply another interview for me. It was an opportunity to look back at more than two decades of my life in the UAE—the struggles I faced, the lessons I learned, the opportunities I received, and the journey that shaped the person I am today.
I arrived in Dubai in 2003 with dreams of building a better future. However, my beginning was very different from what I had expected. I started with a basic job and also took on cleaning and car-washing work to earn additional income.
The journey was never easy. There were disappointments, uncertainty, and moments when giving up might have seemed like the easier option. But every challenge taught me something. Through continuous learning, hard work, and the courage to accept new responsibilities, I gradually progressed from those humble beginnings to a managerial position at a reputed bank.
In this nearly 58-minute episode titled “From Zero to the Top,” I openly shared the realities behind my journey—not only the achievements, but also the sacrifices, failures, difficult decisions, and mindset that helped me move forward.
We also discussed my work through Nepalese in UAE, a platform I created to inform, support, and empower our community. My purpose has always been to share practical information about employment, scam awareness, financial literacy, government services, skill development, and life in the UAE.
For me, success is not measured only by a job title, income, or social status. Real success is being able to use our experiences to guide others and help them avoid the mistakes we once made.
