Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the rights and well-being of over 600,000 Nepali workers in the United Arab Emirates, in observance of International Workers’ Day 2025. In a press statement issued on the occasion, the embassy highlighted both the contributions of Nepali workers to the UAE’s development and the proactive steps being taken to address their issues.
The Embassy recognized that many Nepalese enter the Gulf region with high hopes for better employment opportunities but often face serious challenges such as contract violations, workplace accidents, health issues, exploitation, and wage theft. Ambassador Tej Bahadur Chhetri emphasized that the mission is actively engaged in resolving such problems and ensuring legal protection and support for the Nepali workforce.

The event featured representatives from the Embassy’s labor, consular, and welfare departments, as well as key service providers such as the Foreign Employment Board, Prabhu Money Transfer, and various labor and community service organizations. Key topics discussed included labor rights, safe migration practices, emergency contact systems, and the newly introduced online consular services.
Additionally, the Embassy announced the expansion of its communication and support services. Nepalis in the UAE can now reach the Embassy through the following:
