Nepal Embassy Abu Dhabi Organizes Interaction on “Contribution and Role of Non-Resident Nepalese in Nation Building”

Abu Dhabi, November 10, 2025—The Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi organized an interaction program on the theme “Contribution and Role of Non-Resident Nepalese in Nation Building”, highlighting the importance of collective participation of Nepalese communities abroad in the country’s reconstruction and development process.

Purpose of the Program

The event was organized as a follow-up to the announcements made by the Government of Nepal on Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082, regarding cooperation with governmental and public institutions for the reconstruction of physical infrastructure, economic revitalization, and disaster preparedness. His Excellency Tej Bahadur Chhetri, Ambassador of Nepal to the UAE, provided detailed information on the establishment of the Physical Infrastructure Reconstruction Fund initiated by the Government of Nepal.

The Ambassador informed that this Fund aims to facilitate structured contributions from the global Nepalese community to support reconstruction projects. He urged all Nepalese residing in the UAE to contribute through the designated official channels and assured that the Embassy would provide necessary guidance and coordination.

Engagement of Nepalese Community in the UAE

The Embassy acknowledged the overwhelming support and participation of the Nepalese community, including representatives of various professional groups, social organizations, community leaders, and businesspersons from sectors such as hospitality, education, engineering, trade, and tourism. Around 60 distinguished participants attended the event.

During the session, participants shared valuable suggestions and expressed readiness to collaborate in national development efforts. The discussion also covered how Nepalese abroad can help build stronger institutions and contribute to sustainable economic growth back home.

Presentation and Coordination

The interactive session was moderated by Mr. Dipendra Poudel, Labour Counsellor at the Embassy, who delivered a detailed presentation on the Embassy’s ongoing activities and initiatives in labour welfare, social coordination, and community engagement.

Call for Participation

The Embassy reiterated that detailed information about the Fund, including the QR Code for contribution and coordination mechanism, is available through the Embassy’s communication channels. It encouraged all Nepalese residing in the UAE to take part in this noble national initiative to strengthen Nepal’s reconstruction and development goals.
