UAE Grants Amnesty to 166 Nepali Inmates: A Humanitarian Gesture Celebrated by Nepal

Kathmandu, April 1, 2025: The Government of Nepal has expressed its heartfelt appreciation to the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for granting amnesty to 166 Nepali inmates on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and the festival of Eid.

In a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal has praised the UAE’s decision, highlighting it as a gesture rooted in humanitarian grounds and a symbol of the cordial and friendly relations between the two nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs acknowledged that the amnesty and pardon were granted following a formal request made by the Government of Nepal through the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Nepal has welcomed this decision as a positive step in fostering strong bilateral ties between the two countries. The Ministry extended its gratitude to the UAE government for this act of kindness and goodwill.
