Consulate General of Nepal in Dubai Organizes Virtual Interaction with Nepali Students in UAE

The Consulate General of Nepal in Dubai successfully organized a Virtual Interaction Session with Nepali students residing in Dubai and other Northern Emirates of the UAE. More than 50 Nepali students participated in the session, openly sharing their experiences, challenges, and concerns while pursuing education in the UAE.

Students Raise Concerns on Misleading Consultancies

During the discussion, many students highlighted their grievances against certain education consultancies in Nepal. According to them, these consultancies made false promises of university admissions, scholarships, and guaranteed work opportunities, but instead sent students to unaccredited training centers or non-recognized institutions.

Several students expressed that they have not only suffered financial losses, but are also going through mental stress and emotional breakdowns due to the uncertainty of their academic future.

Mental Health Impact Highlighted

Students emotionally shared how such fraudulent practices have impacted their mental health, financial stability, and family expectations. They appealed for stronger monitoring, transparency, and official guidance to protect future Nepali students from falling victim to such scams.

Consulate’s Commitment to Support

Hari Odari, Consul General of Nepal in Dubai, addressed the session stating:

“This interaction has been organized to understand the real issues and experiences of Nepali students studying in the UAE. Your voices matter, and we are here to listen and support.”

Krishna Prasad Chapagain, Deputy Consul General, further assured:

“The Consulate is fully committed to guiding and assisting students facing any academic, legal, or mental challenges. We will also formally convey these concerns to the Ministry of Education in Nepal for necessary action.”

DNIG’s Appreciation

Manoj Marahatta, Founder of the Dubai Nepalese Influential Group (DNIG), praised the initiative saying that this was a noble and much-needed step to stand with the students and protect their future.
The session was hosted by Kunjan Shah, Consul at the Nepalese Consulate in Dubai.
